I was under the impression that I was your big comfy blanky.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

So work today was crappy. The weak bright spot was that Annoying coworker back up person is no longer working at the job.

Unfortunately 4 other people aren't either.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yay Tom!

yeah there were a lot of tears. But they did it I guess the best way they could, at the end of the day, the five left right before the end of the day with their bosses walking them out. And their bosses were shaken up. This is the first time EVER that anyone has been laid off so it wasn't the first option.

That's rough, askye. Layoffs are hard on everyone.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Since I AM a pudgy dumpling, I foresee angst, disappointment and self-hatred.

I prefer to think of you as a scrumptious dumpling.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

What Hec said!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yay Tom!

I more or less accomplished stuff today. Got some work done, organized my desk a bit, and figured out what I need to do tomorrow. Also met the new grad students who'll be in my office. I think I might have to start bringing my laptop in with me, because our office now has four people and only two computers.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I just had a Sven & Ollie moment with my electric toothbrush. When I plugged it in to charge the base wasn't level so I moved it a bit and the little blue light went off. I moved it again and the light came on again but the next time I looked the light was off. I jiggled it and the light came on again but then it went off. Eventually I realized the light blinks when the toothbrush is charging.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Hil, much holding out till you can get to the doctor ~ma.

askye, that sucks.

Yay, Tom!

Also, here is my contribution to making Wednesday a better-behaved day: I am the queen of buying fresh, locally grown produce - walked to the farmers' market and got tomatoes, apples, carrots, potatoes, onions, and scones. Then drove out to an orchard on the outskirts of town where I got more apples and also a couple of summer squash.
