Grandtoddler knew who her intended audience was.
I was babysitting for my (spoiled rotten) nephew when he pointed to the MacDonald's and started chanting
FRIES.
When I declined to stop he started howling. I calmly looked at him and said, "that doesn't work on me." He stopped instantly.
Washer repairs don't work well for me. I'd fix a dozen dryers before tackling the washer again. Too many parts.
I never learned to fix anything; as a very precocious/destructive child, I learned to disassemble things.
Putting them back together was never as interesting.
This life-philosophy has been expensive and damaging to my long-term prospects, but very satisfying.
So work today was interesting. It's weird how I can find out all kinds of inter personal stuff but I'm usually slow learning the big news.
There's some big meeting this weekend about the budget and lots of people are freaked about jobs being cut. According to what I've heard there haven't been layoffs before, even in the 80s but times are different. I think my job is secure but some generalized job ma will be good.
One thing I'm going to do is talk to my boss about doing some archiving that's tied into one of my responsibilities. It's not really important but it's something I could do that will need to be done some time so I'll always have something to do, but low enough priority that I can help out other departments as needed.
Yikes! Beatles deluxe comes with bass, drums, mic. I have a Les Paul GH controller that will work. Do I need another guitar for the party? Or does the game assume you will playing with one of the fab 4??
In mid-pedicure - I went with Brand New Skates. Looks v pretty in the bottle.
In case no one has heard yet:
Lutherans pass measure on gay clergy
Minneapolis — Delegates to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America voted this evening to allow gays and lesbians, in committed relationships, to serve as clergy.
The proposal passed Friday night by a margin of 667-307.
Before today's vote, gay and lesbians were allowed to serve as ministers only if they remained celibate.

That's a 68%+ majority vote, I'd say.
Update:
The story was wrong, they've corrected it to say:
A resolution voted on earlier in the day, which passed by a vote of 559-451, is the one that commits the church to "finding a way for people in such publicly accountable, lifelong, monogamous, same-gender relationships to serve as professional leaders."
That makes it a slimmer 53.5% majority, but still...
My neighbors are being very loud. It sounds like they're having a party or something. The walls in this building are ridiculously thin. They are across the hall and one apartment over, and I can hear every word they're saying.
