You turned evil a lot faster than I thought you would.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

Accents after a zillion years in a "new" country don't bother me in the least.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

b.) Conservatives are better armed

This is a biggie.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hmm. My officemate is a Democrat and also a hunter, and thus owns several guns. I think he's the only person I know who's ever told me that he owns a gun.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Some people's accents soften, some don't. Scince I know mine won't -- I can't pick up an accent, or imitate one- I am pretty forgiving.

I am not forgiving of speaking a language a guest doesn't speak, unless you don't know any other.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

And they all speak Hebrew over dinner even when I'm sitting there like a lemon. I know, I should learn - but I find it impossible

I find talking in a language one cannot understand in front of him/her quite rude, Seska.

However, if you'd like to practice Hebrew, just say so. I'd love to help. Ask omnis.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I am pretty forgiving.

Oh sure, me too. I just find some accents really tricky to follow.

My grandfather died at 75, 55 years after leaving County Cork. He sounded exactly like a Cork resident after all that time. And I, who have spent much time in the south-west of Ireland, only ever understood about 25% of what he was saying. Still, at least he wasn't an overly chatty bloke...!

The Boy owns a gun, which I don't think I knew until after I had moved in. It's locked up in the safe.

He bought it because he figured that at least it would get one gun off the streets. Trufax.

He's the most idealistic, honest, genuinely good human being I know.

(I REALLY dislike having a gun in the house in which I live, but it's not a deal-breaker. And, hell, growing up, my parents had guns. I think my mom still has 2 or 3. Not my stepdad; my mom.)

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I am not forgiving of speaking a language a guest doesn't speak, unless you don't know any other.

No excuse!

One should have a universally comprehensive batch of pictogram cards on hand so that you may still engage in conversation with guests who do not speak your language.

Plus, it's fun for parties!

"Could you please pass the gravy? What...what is that? Oh, it's like Pictionary! Um...that's a..an oyster? We're going to a clambake? Is that a neo-con choking a manatee? Baby fishmouth!"

Shir: I'd absolutely love some help. I just need to get some of the letters down first. I'm dyslexic, which I swear is *seriously* getting in the way of learning a whole new alphabet. I never had this much trouble with French, German or Spanish (I thought I had an ear for languages, until I encountered ones from outside of Western Europe).
