"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Seska, how ya feeling?

Think I'm improving, slowly. I'm in less of a mess than I was the other night, when my fever was ridiculous and I was vomiting eveywhere. Lovely. Now I'm mostly exhausted, having some trouble moving around, and dizzy if I get up. Fortunately, I have a Girl waiting on me with anything I need. Tamiflu appears to be quick-acting stuff. I do enjoy living in this age of medical wonders. Thanks for asking!

I'll be working nearish to Hackney, I think, but we still have no idea where to look for flats or anything.

Hmm. Hackney's interesting - you either love it or hate it. It's a bit risky for me, so I live in (an exceptionally safe but a bit dull part of) Camden. Let me know if you want advice on where to start flat-hunting! Any estate agents in your area of choice will have masses for you to look at.

“Not dead yet!”

I think my printer is dead like a dead thing.

We had a powerflash (brownout rather than full blackout) during Saturday's afternoon thunderstorm, but everything seemed okay and hey, we didn't lose complete power and it was only for a second, right?

Right.

I went to use the printer this morning and it, well... wouldn't. Didn't turn on, didn't even so much as flicker with a "fuck off and die" message.

On the one hand, perhaps it's just the power supply and a replacement cord can fix it. And if it's dead, dead, deadsky, well, it's had a pretty good run and I've actually been thinking of getting a new one, since this one only accommodates standard sized paper and I have entirely too many occasions when I need to fax/copy legal-sized documents.

But so far, it's a Monday.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

This is the one I just got to replace my dead multifunction. I'm pretty sure it faxes legal size. It was bigger than my previous multifunction and setup was more complicated. But so far it seems to be working great and I'm looking forward to the four-color (two printhead) cartridges so that I run out of the colors individually and not all together.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

It's quiet in here today. I hope it's not too much of a Monday for people.

Barb, sorry about the printer aggravation.

I was chatting with my BiL yesterday. He was telling me about this diet idea, that what you should eat is based on what blood type you are. Has anyone heard or tried this? Here is a link to the site:

it's to support the books on the topic, so not chock full of details.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

This weekend:

Good: Got to see best friend who came in from L.A.

Bad: She was here for ex-frenemy and ex-boyfriend's wedding.

Up in the air: I was introduced to "Let Me Smell Yo Dick."

Yeah, my current dead one is also an HP and it's lasted a long time and performed well, so I'll probably go with another. They seem to talk to Macs without too much issue, which is another bonus.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

O_a, some of it's a little woo woo but there are parts of the eating for your blood type that make lots of sense. Especially why some groups of people slide right into vegetarian lifestyle and some never feel healthy without meat in their diets.

Okay, I want to read the article now, but I have no freakin' idea what my blood type is. I find myself curious, because since I've started eating 90% vegetarian, I've been able to operate on 4 to 6 hours of sleep pretty much every single night, which was *never* possible for me before.

Yes, there's the whole idiotically happy thing, but I really don't see how that can account for all of it.
