You two carried me through that war. Now I need you to carry me just a little bit further. If you can.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My mother, predictably absolutely LOST her mind and told the ex-mistress/wife to get her cheap, trashy ass the fuck out.

I'm thinking maybe she craves the drama and leveraged the memorial for maximum effect.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I should be in the basement, forcing the Summer 2009 Toy Purge on to my child and husband. Instead, I am eating cake and counting down the hours until Mad Men starts.

“Not dead yet!”

I do have both.

Now why does this not surprise me?

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

ok at guitar festival. saw many guitares, heard some good music, lots of geeky sound talk. Dh is in a workshop and I got my lap top so I could just get the pictures off the camera. -- but I found some unsecured wifi...

So I came here instead.

Barb, take heart in the idea that you could never be the person you mom is. She taught you well what not to be.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yeah, I love that stuff for making quick dinners. No washing, no chopping, and it tastes really good.

I just made pesto from basil that was starting to go a bit mushy. Which means I have found a use for everything from last week's farmers market except the Turkish eggplant, which are starting to look kind of wrinkled, which I'm guessing isn't good.

Oh my, Barb. There are just nothing I can think of to say to that.

It's probably fine. if it cools down enough, just throw it in the oven with some olive oil, s&p, onion, and some whole garlic cloves. whiz it up in the food processor or blender for an easy dip.
