Just heard two men leave from the apartment across the hall.

aww. Sometimes I really miss the 90's.

I just bought a DVD of the opera I was "in" (The Lyric Opera hired a horse and I came with him). As far as I can tell the costumes, set and staging are nearly identical. From Chicago in 2000 to (I think) Munich in 2005. Are operas pretty much the same no matter where you see them?

And now that the photo has refreshed my memory I can see that the set is not the same, and they used a donkey instead of a horse. Poor operinos. Horses are trouble enough.

I know that would be hilarious if I had any idea what the show was like.

I'm watching Elisir with subtitles and laughing at how many ways I was wrong about the plot, watching from backstage.
