Hey, my Bitches! Happy Valentine's Day!
I had a lovely evening with sj and TCG last night, and even got to see Victor and thessaly for a minute. Quite lovely, after a completely wretched day at work.
Oh, some of you might like to know that CBD LOVED the Serenity Pillow. Also, here's some pictures of it all completed. It turned out really well! [link]
vw, that Serenity pillow is fabulous!
I saw the Serenity pillow in person, and it is fabulous!
I am happily full and tipsy.
sigh. i know we've said we're not schmoopy, and im not, but it seems i get nothing at all for vday. she had football practice, i helped a friend move, we're grabbing separate takeout orders before watching some wonderfalls (my xmas gift to her) then going to a concert with friends. i gave her a scrabble card, not sappy. but a card, still.
I'm sorry your v-day was a disappointment, meara.
Ugh, meara.
If it helps any, my sister gets no love today because her boyfriend is icefishing in the back of beyond with his brothers today, apparently an annual tradition. That hasn't killed any of them yet, but who knows.
Huh.
Snopes says there is no federal holiday called "President's day" (or Presidents day).
Apparently the 3rd monday in February is simply "Washington's Birthday."
I call foul. Washington's Birthday is the 22nd. I know because we share the day. I don't know what MLK would think about his birthday happening on a Monday every year either.
Man, I still hate Valentine's Day even though I have me a schmoop of a husband. Why the hell do we need a day to express love with overpriced roses or dinner when we have all the days of the year to do it?
I mean, I don't mean to shit on anyone's Valentine's Day, but I just find the concept so fucking lame. Like weddings, I guess I just see it as the marketing of love or love=money spent and I find it immensely distasteful.
We spent the Saturday of a much needed 3-day weekend (well, for me, kind of- Tom has work tomorrow and I still have class tomorrow night) at IKEA buying a new enormous king sized bed. Got the mattress, bed frame, and underlying back support thing for like $1100! Getting that stuff up our tiny staircase was a nightmare- thankfully we got a foam mattress, I don't think a spring one would have bent as much as we needed- this one barely made it as it is. We had to rent a cargo van, which was $150, but they were having a special on bed stuff so we got a $150 gift card, so it kinda sorta works out.
