Natter 63: Life after PuppyCam
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Maybe something more like Pudding and Lurve Muffin?
Angel and Spike are good cat names. :-)
Yesterday we had all the windows open as it was 60+ and it really felt like spring. This morning, it's 34 (down from 36 while I've sat here) and there's thick snow falling steadily.
Shortest spring on record, I guess.

My dog apparently ate a couple of ounces of weeds and then threw them up this afternoon.
...I read this as ate WEED. And I was like "well, someone's open about her pot habit...and surprisingly not so upset about the amount the dog went through, that's expensive, isn't it?"
When I was growing up, the neighbor across the back way was, um...unsubtle about his weed habit. And by that I mean he had a four or five foot plant growing next to his back stoop.
One day the family got a black lab mix puppy. Cute widdle guy, just tiny when they got him.
And that tiny widdle guy ate the whole weed plant.
Owner guy was very upset about the loss of his plant. Owner lady was very upset that her widdle puppy might die.
Widdle puppy was one very happy puppy. For three whole days. He just lay there and, like, wagged his tail, and probably thought: Dude. What if "Dog" was spelled G-O-D. You know, man?
"Look at the size of my PAWS!"
"What's that thing waving around at the base of my spine? Wait, it's ATTACHED?"
"Man, I've got to get me some Snausages, like, now!"
Yeah, but that differs from a dog's normal day how?
More munchies?
Oh, wait.
I feel like all I do is vent here, but here is more. The company just instituted a new process for something I do everyday and it involves new software (of course). One of the few things I had created and kept really up-to-date was a document outlining the steps for this one task I do - I maintained the doc so that anyone could step in and do this one thing (because it's pretty important). Now it is all inaccurate and needs a complete overhaul, not a couple of tweaks. Meanwhile, I am having to learn the new system and it takes longer per task than the old way (of course), so I don't have any free time to update the doc. grrr.
A family memeber comented to me how I always seem to get frustrated at a job about a year in, and maybe I do or did (I think it is a valid observation especially in the years I was focused on adoption), but the comment has twinged me so badly. Two jobs ago, I had it for 1.5 years and they ended my contract. The next job, I was there 2.5 years and my job completely changed in that time. This job I've been at 14 months and my workload doubled in November. le sigh. anyhoo.

Yikes. It's still warmish here.

Yeah, that's not you, it's them. Like my history of bad bosses -- I really believe it's just bad luck (and/or the Peter principle in action across the field....).
In news about my job, I am on hold with a help desk, just like I was at the end of the workday on Friday. Although it's a different help desk this time.
Grr.
