Giles: Stop that, you two. Riley: He started it... Xander: He called me a bad name! I think it was bad; it might have been Latin.

When Hubby started his health adventures, his cholesterol was over 600. It may have been higher, but the meter didn't go higher. The other day, it was below 100. His HDL was good, too.

Unfortunately, his sister was just diagnosed with MS. This may be genetic, but we can't be sure, because Hubby's birth father is long disappeared. His mother believed that people you didn't want to associate with should be considered dead, so no efforts were made to maintain contact. When asked about genetic things, she only ever referred to Hubby's adoptive father's family. I have a bad feeling about Hubby's grandchildren's health.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Have you tried OpenDNS?

TV, not internet. Though I had been, unrelatedly, intending to have a look at that anyway.

As for myself, my hair and skin come from Daddy. I'm praying my health comes from my mother, because she smoked most of her life, had heart surgery ten years ago, had bad lungs--as do I!--but still made it to 79. That's not too sucky a run.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My mom gave me her famine-resistant metabolism and sense of humor. My dad gave me my legs and possibly the way my mind works (whether that's due to genes or training is hard to say).

My dad always said that the best thing about my being in his math class for two years was being able to see how my mind works.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yes, you do have to put that much cheese on it! That's the point of cinci chili! Okay, maybe not for everyone. Mmm. I seem to be on a cheese kick at the moment. I wonder if I'm not getting enough calcium or something.

I have no idea what my cholesterol is. I probably should find out, eh?

I got freckles from my grandmother! Hopefully also good skin, but probably eventually arthritis and we check for glaucoma all the time. But definitely freckles.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Heh. *I* like that much cheese on my 4-way, but not everyone does. I've actually SEEN people make the heretical act of taking cheese OFF their 3/4/5-way.

I seem to be on a cheese kick at the moment. I wonder if I'm not getting enough calcium or something.

Since I've been on a soft-food (and also food-that-isn't-small-particles) diet thanks to getting the tooth pulled, the majority of my diet this week is dairy-based (smoothies, yogurt, ice cream, cheese). I'm expecting great fingernails any day now.

(Also, I can't WAIT to eat crunchy/small-particle-y food again!)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.
