And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Allyson, I am *furious* that you were screwed over like this. The universe owes you one hell of a favor.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

The universe owes you one hell of a favor.

Indeed it does. I'm astonished and outraged on your behalf. Karma is going to bite them in the ass, but hard, I'm sure of it.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I just...I have to accept responsibility that a promise isn't a hiring letter. I should have had it in hand before saying anything to my current employer.

The director of the program is trying very hard to find me a position somewhere, since she feels terribly responsible for this.

It's heartbreaking because I would have rocked this job.

Tim keeps saying, "you aren't an assistant, you're a writer, and you're going to eventually make a living writing books."

It's sweet, he doesn't really get the publishing industry and that fewer and fewer people make a living at it, but it helps to think of whatever job I do as a living and not a life, you know?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Snow! [link]

Not a snowpocalypse, thank goodness. Good timing, too -- it has 41 hours to melt before I have to drive anywhere.

Maybe I'm not done kicking the shit out of myself.

Yes it does. I was talking with a coffee shop aquatience who is in a bad situation right now -- sHe has a boss that says things like "i don't need to listen to clerical staff" after asking her a question. My friend isn't thrilled, but as she said this morning it isn't her life.

But I hope Tim is right.

Our wings are not tired.

I hope the pain stays away, Steph.

Yay for Matt! What a relief.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Congrats to Matt!

I just realised that Dev Patel is the kid from Skins. I can't believe he's supposed to be dating Freida Pinto.
