Speaking of incessant, grating whines…here's another Minnesota pest, Michele Bachmann. She spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference (by invitation…how deranged have the Republicans become, anyway?) and offered this jewel of logic:

I had a very full weekend planned. And then my cold ruined pretty much all of it.
I've taken Monday off, but I'm staying local, so hopefully lots of rest and at least 2 or 3 movies. Fox Sci-Fi tonight, though.

I keep starting and then stopping about a billion different responses, and I'm finally left blinking in perplexity and saying a faux-Southern "Oh, bless her heart, she thinks she made a point there."
Doing this weekend: Housecleaning like a housecleaning demon tonight and tomorrow (any localistas who want to come and visit with/distract Matilda in exchange for meals and gratitude are heartily welcome), then tomorrow evening Matilda and I drive to Reno with my mom to see her new place, go to church together the next morning, and come back home after that.
