So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

My grandparents never had computers, and for most of them, electricity was a new-fangled luxury.

I spent a lot of time on the Internets in the mid-90s. On, you know, boards. That I could telnet to. When I ran out of single line ones to dial up for the night.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was all over everything in the late 90s. Compuserve, AOL, Delphi, and various FIDONet boards. Just in case, you know.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

My grandfather was a telegraph operator.

My grandfather worked his way through normal school by selling stereoscopes door to door.

Aims, I was part of a big office move that went off well. My role was putting together a brochure about the new building for employees, including information about break areas, fire exits, parking, coffee and the like. It seemed to be helpful to people to have all that information in one place. It also forced the building manager to come up with policies, instead of his usual "because I said so."

I'm half watching a movie with Mark Wahlberg playing a rocker dude/star. I started thinking he actually sounds pretty good and wondered if he did his own singing. Der. @@ at self.

Hee.

But, you know, when he was in the Funky Bunch I still wondered that.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I read that he did *some* of the singing--but I don't know how much.

The film's rock band (Steel Dragon) is sort of loosely based on Judas Priest. Rob Halford left the group with a lot of personal conflict (he is gay) and was replaced with a tribute band singer.

Wikipedia says that Walberg did NOT do his own singing.
