srsly. I love finding boxes and free packing supplies - I am huge with the scavenging - and I love packing up a house. I also love unpacking, but tire of it faster.

I loves me some packing.
You are nuts. I love you, but you are crazy.
(and when I get a date, you are welcome down here! I may leave the state, but..)
I love packing too! It's an awesome exercise in puzzle solving, sorting (which I have a passion for) and simplifying/cleaning up. Like goes with like! Toss out the dysfunctional and irrelevant. Bring order out of chaos.
That's my porn.
I am surrounded by headcases.
Michelle Obama hosted Sweet Honey in the Rock at the White House for a bunch of schoolkids and kids of WH staff. I like this First Family.
I was reading at some political blog that the First Family is hosting a party tomorrow featuring entertainment from the US Marine Corp Band and Earth Wind and Fire. The blogger then said, "and that's a sentence I never thought I'd ever write in my life."
I like boxing up books and unpacking them, too! I enjoy packing my boxes as tight as I can to prevent the books from shifting around. ChiKat can testify how much I enjoy unpacking books--I organized her shelves for her after her move a few years back.
Seriously, since I've lived in the same place for 10 years, I get my jollies from reorganizing under sinks and in closets.
Ahhhh. The joy of order.

I stopped clutter clearing professionally though. My joy was dampened by the fact that others do not share my love of order and, in fact, despite paying me to do so, didn't really want their stuff cleaned up. Poor them. It was rough for a few of them.
Dana needs to see that.
Hee. I think I'd seen it before, but my husband hadn't, and he was very amused.
I read, I think, in a NYT blog post that Michelle Obama is opening up the White House for events quite a bit already, and really getting out into the community, and visiting service organizations, and really has DC excited.
I've lived here since '97. I moved up here with 8 milkcrates, clothing in luggage, a lamp, a microwave and boombox. And a trashcan. That was it.
Not looking forward to 12 years of stuff. My last major move was when I was 16 (from the house I first came home to )and my parents bought a new house. I remember driving a neighbor's truck back and forth with our stuff to the new place. The rest? I don't recall.
I hate the whole process. I've helped friends move and when my brakes totally died on the day of one move? It was a selfish blessing for me.
