Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think I'm about to give up on it, Hil. I no longer like Ethan and whatever the daughter's name is, and they take up too much time.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The ones that I'm giving up on are Silver and Dixon, because Silver's just been acting insane, and it's annoying. Navid is still adorable, though.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just realized I have like a month's worth of Ugly Betty sitting on the DVR. Does that mean I should just quit watching it? Somehow that makes me feel bad.

Have you reached the last ep yet, Hil? Because Silver loses it entirely there. Ethan and Annie, now that they're distanced, get too much screen time. I do agree about Navid, and I've come to like Adrianna.

Watch this week's before you do, Jesse. It was hysterical.

Man, I managed to stop watching it right around the time Betty and Henry went to see Wicked and then had The Sex. I want to jump back in, but I'm afraid I would just be confused.

Yeah, I just watched the last ep. Silver's tattoo was just so completely ridiculous. Adrianna's growing on me -- for the first bunch of episodes, I was mostly thinking that she did not react to anything in the way that it seemed any normal person would, but I'm starting to like her more.

Navid's family is interesting. It's like each episode we find out a new detail about them that just adds to the "Huh?" His father is a porn producer! He's Persian! He's got an enormous overbearing family who all live with him! And know all the details of his life! He's Jewish! I think it's mostly the porn producer part that's not fitting in with the rest.

Soap operas (and especially DOOL) as metaphor for evolution. [link]

The author is having fun, but is also dead serious, and I think he makes a good case

I wonder if they decided on all Navid's details at once. Though Persian Jews are fairly common in my neighbourhood, which is kinda near theirs, and porn producers are a dime a dozen over the hill.

Yeah, LA has the biggest Persian Jewish community in the country. I'm just not sure how many of them have those huge traditional families living off their porn proceeds.
