Ground Control to Major Tom is not a good car commercial song.

Ground Control to Major Tom is not a good car commercial song
Totally. I keep hearing the end of the song...
Tell my wife I love her very much (she knows!)
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit’s dead, there’s something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
I'll leave out the rest of the lyrics about floating in his tin can above the moon and there's nothing he can do.
EXACTLY. I love the song for its bleakness, but sheesh, I don't want to associate it with my metal creampuff deathmachine.
OK, so NOW I am mindfucking how I'll be sure on a house. Cars? I go practical and good enough and reliable. Apartments? The one with the most space, light and no wall-to-wall carpetting. House? Oh holy hell. I'm just sort of overwhelmed.
I know this is all FWP. But I don't do money stuff gracefully.
Stupid, motherfucking, miserable, scum sucking, sub-human, oxygen wasting, arrogant assholes who wouldn't know quality if it came up and bit them on their no doubt considerable and quite cellulite-ridden ASSES!
ARGH.
Poor Barb.
As an antidote, I'd like to say lisah rocks. She gave me names of a couple of petsitters, and so while I can't finalize with one or the other until I know where the fuck I'll be living in July, I feel like I have bases covered for the catzen. I just wish I could pull the trigger because I hate being all "maybe I'll hire you" for so long, but that's life.
Sara, I have no good advice for buying a house, but if the place is structurally sound, feels like you could live there, and you can afford it? Seems like a pretty good start.
And I don't hate the basement. I have a loathing/fear of basements.
Choose the neighborhood as well as the house. You want the worst house in the best neighborhood, since you can fix the house but not the area.
Yeah, I'm pretty much sticking to particular neighborhoods I mostly know.
