Actually, I was thinking it would be sort of like a pet. You know, we could...we could name her Trixie, or Miss Kitty Fantastico, or something.

I'm feeling queasy. Calling emailing money people this weekend. Blearg. Fear I'm in for disappointment even as I'm watching prices stabilize if not dropping a wee bit.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am doing research for potentially moving as early as this summer. I don't like the idea, but financially it is hard to not consider it. Plus things here are going to get worse: at work, with expenses/services in the city, and in my building.

Moving to TX??

I'm just...scared. And realtor.com is giving me ideas to worry. Remington?

yep to TX. It may not come to pass, but as the asst. in the department I know what numbers of staff we have to get to by 2010. If things don't change this spring, I am not sure how they get to the numbers without me losing my job, or my job becoming well over 100% more than I signed on for.

what is Remington? did I send you something scary?

I do think this one is a hell no: [link]

This one's been on the market a suspicious while, but the cheery bathroom charms me: [link]

AACK! Scary basement: [link] plus if it is the layout I know, not much bigger than my apartment.

Remington borders Hampden (south of it) and parts are pretty ok, parts I'm iffier on. Think near that PaperMoon Diner I think I took you to.

Ground Control to Major Tom is not a good car commercial song.

Totally. I keep hearing the end of the song...

Tell my wife I love her very much (she knows!)
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit’s dead, there’s something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?

I'll leave out the rest of the lyrics about floating in his tin can above the moon and there's nothing he can do.

EXACTLY. I love the song for its bleakness, but sheesh, I don't want to associate it with my metal creampuff deathmachine.

OK, so NOW I am mindfucking how I'll be sure on a house. Cars? I go practical and good enough and reliable. Apartments? The one with the most space, light and no wall-to-wall carpetting. House? Oh holy hell. I'm just sort of overwhelmed.
