Aw Alibelle, what a bad weekend for you! I am so glad you will be out of that crazy scene and into a nice place soon. BTW, I have some bookshelves for you if you need them.

What a mess, Alibelle!
aww , what a royal pain, Alibelle!
That sucks, Alibelle. I'm sorry you have to deal with this.
Yikes Alibelle. Did you get the cute apt you linked to before?
ION - mac and I went to an open house around the corner from us. A 2 BR maybe a little larger than ours, but better used space. Asking $355K with $800 maintenance. Makes me think I could easily get that for our place.
Loki probably has all sorts of dysfunctional tales from his previous home.
This weekend, I've cleaned, shopped, got a pedicure and did my taxes. IN PEN. Taxes go to work for copying...WAIT! My printer doubles as a copier! Woohoo! But they'll still go to work to be mailed.
I am packing up the shopping cart for a morning trip to the thrift store. I was going to go to the PO also, but it will be closed. Maybe I'll take a few boxes and mail them at a 24hr APC on the way to the movie tomorrow. mac is wanting more engagement that I want to give right now. He thinks he needs help with a video game, but what he really needs is to try new things and see what works.
Thanks, guys.
I just took a cranky-pants nap and some Excedrin, had some chocolate cake, and I'm now in a much better mood. Because I did get that really cute apartment, and I'm staying at a really nice hotel (I love hotels - especially really nice ones), and I'm going to do room service for dinner, which my mom offered to treat. I also went to Barnes and Noble and bought myself a book. Also, this bed is really really nice. Come November, I'm going to have to seriously consider upgrading my mattress.
So life isn't looking quite as bad as it was a few hours ago, and I can now call my insurance company in a much better frame of mind. Plus the friend I drove to the airport was able to muscle the window up to within about four inches from the top, so it might look kind of rough, but if I can't afford to get it fixed right away it shouldn't be too hard to keep water out of that size of a space. And the car is a convertible, so I locked the glove compartment, and everything else inside should be fairly safe until I get it all fixed up.
Scrappy, I would love some book shelves! Thank you. I have a couple of book towers right now that the cats enjoy toppling upon occasion. But I am okay with ending their fun if it means more organization in my life. Plus I will totally be needing furniture for my new house! Because it is bigger than my current house, and will need to be filled up.
I do occasionally think about having a random hotel stay as a kind of mini vacation -- a clean room I didn't have to clean myself! And etc.

Me too! I'm considering staying here on Monday night at my own expense, it's $169 a night, which apparently is just about the cheapest you can do in Burbank right now and still be in a hotel and not a motel. This is the place: [link] But that's a little pricier than I want it to be, considering my other upcoming expenses. But it is really nice, and I haven't spent enough time here because I had all kinds of random obligations to deal with for friends.
I feel guilty about my cats. I've been going over every day and hanging out with them for a couple of hours, and they seem fine, but it's really chilly over there, and April keeps snuggling with the heater, apparently in hopes that it will turn itself back on. I could bring them over here, but I'm really kind of hesitant about having to cat wrangle them back into their carrying case and cleaning up a temp litter box before work when I have to check out.
