I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

The 8 years I was a vegetarian I gained more weight than any other time in my life. And that was with walking an hour a day, 7 days a week, and regular gym workouts.

These days I'm sacrificing cows and chickens in the hope of saving my knees.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

“Learn more about how delicious and easy a vegetarian lifestyle is," Byrne said.

I swear, the first time I read that, the word "lifestyle" was invisible.

PETA is insane. I can't even pretend to relate. The Klan makes more sense, and I don't say that lightly.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

If I want to make a pie, but can't find my second 9 inch pie plate (I know one of them is with Javachik), what is a better alternative--a 9 inch cake pan, or a 10 inch tart pan?

Tart pan, I'd imagine.

Are they both straight-sided, Perkins?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I do seem to lose weight a bit more easily than my non-vegetarian sister, and I've definitely lost a bit of weight the times that I've got vegan for a little while, but I never got anywhere close to looking like those women. I've known vegetarians and vegans with a whole range of body types. (As a vegetarian, it's really easy to fall into the cheesetarian trap, and end up with a pretty high-fat diet. When I actually take the time to cook my own food, rather than ordering in or heating up frozen cheezy things, I lose weight much more quickly.)

The tart pan is scalloped. It sounds like that's the better choice though, so I will use that.

(sorry, I got called away)

hip deep in pie

Perkins, I would use a deep ceramic dish, if you have one of those.

Not that's anything close to the right shape, unfortunately. I think I'm going to try the tart pan, and just keep a close eye on it cooking time wise.
