Happy Birthday, Kristin and Maria!
Given the current job market, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to scream "OH MY GOD LEAVE ME ALONE" at the next person who calls or emails me, would it?

Maybe Obama helps....
Too late. I've had two calls since I posted.
I managed not to scream, at least outloud.
Thanks though!
I just finished mainlining 3 discs of Dexter season 2. Damned shame it's a 4 disc set. This will make me twitchy for the next three days. I need to see!
oohhh I need to restart on Dexter. I finished Season 1 a couple of months ago.
I meant to say today--Happy Birthday, Abe and Charles!!
From Darwin's autobiography:
[O]ne day, on tearing off some old bark, I saw two rare beetles, and seized one in each hand; then I saw a third and new kind, which I could not bear to lose, so that I popped the one which I held in my right hand into my mouth. Alas! it ejected some intensely acrid fluid, which burnt my tongue so that I was forced to spit the beetle out, which was lost, as was the third one.

This is cool, in a "makes ya' think" kind of way: The Evolution of Life in 60 Seconds
The Evolution of Life in 60 Seconds is an experiment in scale: By condensing 4.6 billion years of history into a minute, the video is a self-contained timepiece. Like a specialized clock, it gives one a sense of perspective. Everything — from the formation of the Earth, to the Cambrian Explosion, to the evolution of mice and squirrels — is proportionate to everything else, displaying humankind as a blip, almost indiscernible in the layered course of history.
