Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh, Alibelle, for having to deal with computer shit on a Sunday night. Also Grammy W&P makes me feel lame for missing them except turns out the one person I truly feel bad about missing is Neil Diamond. LOVE him.

DVD player is really and truly dead, which is sad making. We have a wee portable for the car that'll do for now, but I want a new one.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Okay, so it turns out that Best Buy doesn't close at 10:00, despite what the web site told me. And 7-11 doesn't sell eyeglass repair kits. Or as the dude who works there put it, "No! No! No, no, no, no, no." So that turned out to be an efficient use of gas.

Thanks, Burrell! Since sympathy might be all I get today, as far as my computer goes, I'll take it! And for your sake I hope you find a great deal on a DVD player.

Also, have I mentioned before that I've met the guy who does costumes for Neil Diamond? Like, he goes with him on tour and stuff. Apparently Neil is like an uncle to him, and they hang out a lot. Like, they go bowling or sing karaoke. And sometimes people karaoke sing Neil Diamond in front of Neil Diamond.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hee!

I once again fell asleep right after dinner, then woke up around 10, and now can't get back to sleep. I'm not sure what's up with this, but I don't like it.

I'm having a hard time picturing Neil Diamond at karaoke, even harder picturing him bowling.

Aw, Hil. I hate that.

I'm having a hard time picturing Neil Diamond at karaoke, even harder picturing him bowling.

I know! And yet somehow it was easier when I imagined them both dressed up with sequins. I don't know why.

However, my frown has turned upside down because guess who will be competing on DwtS this season? SHAWN JOHNSON!!! I love her.

Swouncing

Skipping (oh, as usual, sigh) to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is SuziQ's birthday.

Happy birthday, Suzi! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

Also, IIRC from last year (and I may very well not RC, so grain of salt and all that), it's also Abraham's (Corwood Industrie's son) birthday, as well, so wishes for the not-so-little-anymore guy, his dad, and all their family, as well.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Holy hell. The bushfire toll is up to 135 dead and counting. Two entire towns were destroyed.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

That sounds horrible, billytea.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

bt, I was reading about that -- horrible! And that it's thought there may be deliberate arson involved, too.

In happier news, I've got an interview today, for which I am ridiculously nervous at this moment. Hopefully by the time 1PM EST rolls around I'll have that under control....

Yeah. Not all the fires, but some of them.

I'm still gobsmacked. I was out driving in Melbourne on the day, I knew there were a couple of fires on the periphery, but nothing like this.
