If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh fucking hell. After waiting until the freaking 31st to even send out W2s, now a week later they figure out they made a mistake in Medicare withholding. Now I have to figure out how to file an amended return. I'm so pissed about this. You took the entire fucking month to do them, you couldn't god damn check your work before sending them out?

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I've never had to pay county or city income tax, just state and federal. However, Cook County currently has a ten percent sales tax, so we pay over and over and over again.

ETA: And our sales tax is on just about everything except for magazines and newspapers. Where my mom lives in NJ, they don't pay sales tax on most groceries, clothes, or books, but they do pay it on magazines and newspapers.

Um, I had county taxes when I lived in Maryland. I would assume you do to. They are part of the state form, but they are a separate tax based on your county.

Well, we don't have anything withheld other than State. Maybe it's different depending which county are in? I dunno...this is why I have a tax guy!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We don't pay it on groceries or clothes cheaper than $110, but the sales tax is 8.something, I believe.

I still can't get used to sales tax even though I haven't lived in DE full-time since I was 18. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah, they withhold as one, but it is broken out.

I just think it's weird that we have no tax based on where in CA you live specifically.

CA sales tax is about the same as NY, 8.25% I think. More at restaurants maybe.

lisah, it's because we are in the city. We pay the city tax, but not Baltimore County. Sorta like the city is its own county. (It's all rolled into the state witholding, I think.)

Jeez, and they call us Taxachusetts? No city or county income tax. 5% sales tax (and none on clothes, though that MAY be changing). I know the governor is trying to get the legislature to push a bunch of sin taxes (alchohol, cigarettes, candy, etc.) through (which is why the clothes one may go away), but gas is relatively cheap compared to other NE states. I know housing taxes can be a bear here, but even so, we're better on those than "live free or die" NH.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

NYC sales tax is 8.375%, but Bloomberg wants to raise it to 8.625%, and restore it for clothing purchases.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

easy peasy....

What I was really thinking of was "okey dokey, artichokey", so even my question was wrong.

I'm glad you asked it wrong because thanks to you and ita, I have been saying "Easy peasy, George and Weezy" ALL. DAY. LONG!!
