You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

On the bright side, if things get really dire I can get in on the ground floor of the venison market. Ooh, and they get plenty of geese, too.

Just one more thing you have in common with Captain Sullenberger. Once he hits a deer in midflight, anyway.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Once he hits a deer in midflight, anyway.

This is bringing to mind "The Night Before Christmas" in a very, very unfortunate way.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

There used to be a small family of deer living in my parents' compost heap. They only left when the family with Really Big Dogs moved in next door.

I'm still thinking work at nearly 10 and after a glass of booze. MAKE IT STOP. (I know others work longer hours than me. I've got a crisis I've got bad feelings about and I just need a wee biddle bit of brain OFF time, please.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How big was that heap or how small a family?

Two or three deer on any given day.

I officially HATE my Cablevision TiFaux. Without warning, it failed to record TDS/Colbert on Monday, The Office after the Superbowl, and 30 Rock tonight. Even though they were all scheduled and I have plenty of hard drive space. HATE.

Now tagless for your comfort.

msbelle, lemon squeezy?

Deer fear my mother more than moose fear Sarah Palin. Mom could keep us stocked up on meat for a long time. It's ironic that she's allergic to venison.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

yes, it is lemon squeezy. I had just looked it up. THANKS all - the other suggestions made me laugh.

Crap. Just found out a childhood friend, whom I've long since lost touch with except for mom-talk (ah, small towns) lost a twin girl pregnancy at 21 weeks very recently. I probably haven't talked to her since I was 16, but...jesus. Her older brothers are twins, too. I feel like I should do something, if only because we were inseperable and shared clothes when we were 11. But I know it isn't about me, so... I'll let the moms do the sharing of condolences.
