I have De Quervain's Tenosynovitis
I know it probably sucks, but something about the name of this is awesome. It's like you're afflicted with being a Musketeer.

Glad to hear it may not end up being a chronic condition.
Gives own knees, ankles and toes the stinkeye
first there was sushi then there was sashimi -- I usually get a mixture of both. Less rice. and now I want the tower of tuna sashimi ( I don't know what it is really called) from Straits cafe in Sf. Which I can't afford. but so good.....
someone at work that does not know me well just used a diminutive of my name in an email response with other people cc'd. She must die.

I know! That is pretty cool. It's all old timey, exotic... and swashbucking!
Come to think of it, I can imagine sword work being very hard on this particular part of the wrist/hand...
But the vinegar that's used in sushi rice makes it lower on the glycemic index than non-sushi white rice (yes, that's despite the fact that sushi rice has sugar in it; go figure).
They should film that and show it every Christmas!
So... is it THAT vinegar, or vingar in general?
I'm not sure about that, since I read about it in conjunction with sushi factoids.

Nora! That's exactly what I had last year around summer/fall, IIRC. After a big honking shot of cortisone and a few weeks of wearing a really infuriating brace that I was only supposed to take off when I showered, it was all better and so far hasn't returned.
I seem to be taking my second sick day of the year.
Yay me?

Yeah, I learned last night that I really should sleep with it on. I didn't get the cortisone shot, they don't do that at the on campus medical center, but if the discomfort continues or worsens I can go elsewhere for it.
