Cashmere- maybe you should go to bed before you kill your husband?
I think you all have heard the saga of my theatre getting a real live lamb, which I think has all sorts of disaster potential. Well, I have a secret... I CAN'T WAIT for this lamb to arrive so I can hold it and pet it and feed it a bottle. I know I will feel a little bad because the prop person who is getting it has a baby, and I am going to be much more excited about this lamb-- I am weird that way.
We are also getting a Whizzinator (http://www.ureasample.com/buy-drug-test-solutions/store/whizzinator.htm) so that the actor can pee on stage without peeing. Somehow there is a health issue with him peeing, when the lamb is going to pee and poop all over the place. I am a little disturbed by the colors available": flesh, latino, and black.
I am not sure I can handle helping a student learn how to use this, especially since I find the particular student adorable in an "I want to pink his cheeks( the ones on his face) like an Italian grandma" kind of way.
What's happening to the lamb after? ???
As for the other...um.
Leverage night!
To celebrate, a quote from John Rogers:
I'm shocked you haven't realized that while I say the show is based on 60's and 70's heist shows, it's plainly a Farscape rip-ioff. Hardison's laptop is even named Winona ...
Of course, my head may just fall off in the interim. Pain meds for the 4 week period, although ineffective, aren't obtainable for about 3 more.
I have been told the lamb is going back to the farmer. I am a little scared that if I find out otherwise, I will have a sheep in my apartment.
ETA: I am fairly confident this is true, as they are concerned with keeping the lamb warm, and making sure he has blankets etc, etc.
Mona lost her mind completely on the AT&T Uverse installer. He installed a bad router, and something that should have taken an hour took three. So I missed work. And I really don't have any PTO, so it's an unpaid day for me. I'm screwed. But back to Mona. She went hoarse from barking. He tried to let her smell his hand to calm her down, and she lunged at him...and peed all over me.
I had to lock her in my room, when she cried, albeit quietly, until he was gone. I couldn't calm her down at all. he was a black dude. Maybe I have a racist dog.
Since my day was shot and I was feeling awful, I took Mona to the dog park. She hid behind me on the bench, and snapped at any dogs who came near. A lady came up to me, and Mona snarled. She asked how long I've had her, how old she was, where she came from.
The lady said that Mona was sitting beside me to protect me not to be protected by me. Shelter dogs are sometimes ridiculously protective of their new humans.
She said t get up and walk around the park, and when Mona was feeling more confident, she'd wander off on her own.
The lady was spot on, and by the end of our visit, she was running off on her own, and getting a little closer to the other dogs without getting snappish.
Obedience classes start on Saturday morning. Yeesh. I hope it all goes well and she makes some friends.
I'm watching a thing on the NSA and 9/11 and aftermath (with Bamford) and they interviewed a former military person who was one of those assigned to listen in on phone conversations. I was heartened to hear her express extreme misgivings about us doing that and that she was doing that.
I am so sorry for your loss, Calli.
I meant to say that JT and JB are excellent celebrity sightings! Anywhere! I meant to say it before...
I went to the theater! And saw Speed-The-Plow! And it was excellent!
Hivemind, please diagnose me: I have a sore patch of skin on my hip. It started being sore yesterday, and I thought maybe the zipper on my skirt was irritating it (through my tights?) It is not red or rashy or otherwise visibly affected at all, it just hurts to the touch. Putting lotion on it is a little painful, but also soothing. It's about 4 inches square. WTF?
Chapping? I get that in patches around my hips this time of year due to dry air + so many damned layers rubbing. I'd wear different stuff and watch it for allergies.
