Natter 63: Life after PuppyCam
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
There is something strange going on here. "To post in Natter:" is a link! To Kat's flickr!
fixed, Sophia!
It seems to be fixed.
I hope to get to NY sometime in the summer, once my bills are mostly paid off and I can shop for fabric, and I would love to go to the museum.
Happy Birthday, Anne!
Get Well Soon, Calli's Dad!
I've wanted to see the tenement museum since I first read about it, probably because of an early imprinting by A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and a strange fondness for reading about cholera. It's been more than 10 years since I've been to NY. Does that seem right to you? I am a very broke person this year, though.
This weekend is Tax weekend for me. I would like to e-file my Federal, but I've never done it before so I'm hoping for help from the hivemind. It looks like I can pick up a copy of H&R TaxCut for $20 that will let me e-file. Does anyone know if it works well? Since I've never e-filed, what does one do with supporting documentation, like a W-2 or a receipt for deductible donations?
I have uncomplicated taxes, Gud, but Turbo Tax just sort of sucked my W-2 from my employer after I put in the EIN.
My taxes have the potential to be really simple this year. I have very few capital gains and I suspect the standard deduction may be greater than itemizing. It was getting awfully close last year.
I've used TurboTax online to e-file for about 5 years, though I've never itemized deductions. You fill out the W-2 information online; since the data is reported to the government anyway I think they don't need the actual print form turned in. I am not sure about charitable receipts.
