It's snowing here, but only very very lightly. Like an occasional flake drifting picturesquely down in front of the mirror. It's 17, though, so the Biscuit has declared it TOO COLD and won't go out, and won't hang with me in the office and is, instead, asleep on the hearth.
Lots of birds at the feeder, too. Oregon juncos, white crowned sparrows, a new family of house finches. And one noisy scrub jay.
The snow is a little worrisome because the SO is at the new repair shop, which doesn't have a waiting room (WTF? Not even a chair?) so he's hoofing it over to the coffee shop. And furthermore, we have to teach down the hill tonight. Since we missed yesterday to weather (wind knocking the power out), I hate to miss today too, at a completely different location.
Ooh, I love Sierra Trading Post. They do have super extra special sales.

They do! I sent my boyfriend there to get new snowboots after some jerk at the REI in Chicago told him that there was a "snowboot shortage" in the Midwest. He also found a great inexpensive pair at the STP.
Skimming to update (ex-posted with Bitches):
IDF tanks entered the Strip few hours ago, after an attack on IDF forces that killed one and injured 3 earlier today.
I also still wish I were a policy wonk who knew the names of all the supreme court justices and cabinet members and didn't feel like a person trying to remember the names of all the seven dwarves while doing it. But I'm not.
Maybe you should map the dwarf names onto the Justices/Cabinet Members. Then you'd only forget whichever one was Happy.
I'm hungry but I've still got a stubborn numb patch that will make eating my sandwich impossible. And this stuff usually wears off fast for me. Grr.
My University just announced an early closing today for everything except the libraries. I'd like to call the U President and ask him why, why, o why he hates me so.
Speaking of photography: Did anyone see the thing in the NYT about the pool photographers from AP, Reuters and AFP (or is it APF?) who picked the photos they thought summed up Bush the best? Fascinating stuff: [link]
That was an interesting read.
I have off today, and so far we only have about an inch of snow. Made a coffee and grocery run, so if it starts snowing again, at least I'm set. Until tomorrow.
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. And Happy Birthday to Ben! I didn't realize they share a birthday. Anyway, I took about a million pictures but here's a link to one of my favorites: [link]
