And you're sure this isn't just some fanboy thing? 'Cause I've fought more than a couple pimply, overweight vamps that called themselves Lestat.

Librarian Warlord

My University just announced an early closing today for everything except the libraries. I'd like to call the U President and ask him why, why, o why he hates me so.

Speaking of photography: Did anyone see the thing in the NYT about the pool photographers from AP, Reuters and AFP (or is it APF?) who picked the photos they thought summed up Bush the best? Fascinating stuff: [link]

That was an interesting read.

I have off today, and so far we only have about an inch of snow. Made a coffee and grocery run, so if it starts snowing again, at least I'm set. Until tomorrow.

Trust my rage

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. And Happy Birthday to Ben! I didn't realize they share a birthday. Anyway, I took about a million pictures but here's a link to one of my favorites: [link]

information libertarian

When I was at the Looniversity, even when the whole place closed (like, for snow), the libraries opened. I guess because they wanted the students to have someplace to go?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That picture is AWESOME!

I remember thinking it was stupid that they closed the library when my undergrad U. closed during an ice storm, because they had to keep the lights/climate control/etc. on, so it wasn't saving energy -- which I now remember was why they closed school. The barge with the fuel for the power plant was frozen in the river! Good times. Anyway, it seemed to me that they could have put together a skeleton staff of people who could make it to the library, given all that.

I was just reading something about the housing market, and decided to check out the prices of 2BR townhouses in my hometown. The last time I checked back in August or so, they were going for $130-150K on up. Now, there are several in the $100K range, and most of them are maxing out at $130K. There are a few 2BR holdouts in the $140s, but I think they're fooling themselves.

Interesting to see what five months of foreclosures and economic woes will do to a market.

Frisco and Ellie are unbelievably gorgeous. They look so alike in the (beautiful) eyes in some shots of Frisco.

Woo! 2p conference call just got postponed to another day. No work for me at all today!
