Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Interesting. Several presidents have been re-sworn in before, and a few not on Bibles. (Coolidge and Teddy Roosevelt just didn't use the Bible for their oaths, and when Johnson was sworn in after Kennedy was shot, they just grabbed a leather-bound book with a cross on the cover that looked like a Bible, but it turned out to be a missal.) Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I used to go to services at this temple.

This guy? This is a terrorist.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

But right wing white people can't be terrorists. Or something.

I'm sure that's what Billo the Clown and his ilk would say.

Now tagless for your comfort.

As horrifying as this crime is, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this man sounds more mentally ill than terrorist. I can't say I can diagnose him but a lot of schizophrenics are easily susceptible to abhorrent ideologies and act out on them. Not saying he shouldn't be punished for the crimes but I'm willing to bet testing will show some level of severe mental illness.

Terrorists act more out of pure intent.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You heard it here first - Illinois still whack:

Imprisoned former governor George Ryan nominated for Nobel Peace Prize: [link]

Blagojevich: Arresting me just like Pearl Harbor: [link] (Special bonus demagoguery: Removing me will result in Huge Tax Increases due to...something or other.)

Our wings are not tired.

Thank you Illinois for bringing on the entertaining news.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Well, Ryan does have a legitimate claim to some human rights cred what with the death penalty stuff, and there is precedent for people who have mixed records (I'm looking at YOU, Henry K.) for getting the Nobel, so that's not terribly freakish.

However, Blagojevich continues to bring the capital-C Circus back into IL politics. Why hasn't he been forcibly escorted out of office yet?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I like to think they're waiting until they can do it on a special episode of Rock of Love 3: Bus.
