No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am waiting with bated breath to see how it tastes. Clafoutis, not bumper stickers. If you know how shoe bumper stickers taste, do not tell me.

I am having way more caffeine than is the norm, what with the parentals' coffee break and all, but I am not complaining about it because it is awesome Kona coffee that they buy green and roast and grind themselves.

I figure I can go through caffeine withdrawal when I get home.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It tastes good! It deflated substantially as it cooled. I don't think I used quite enough fruit, and I feel a little guilty eating what's basically a custard. Though not guilty enough to top eating it.

Mmmmmmm, custard.

In other news, does anyone know of any reason not to use ING for CDs and such? I'm thinking of putting some money into CDs, and they seem to have some of the better rates. But I'm a little bank-shy these days. Not quite "shove it under a mattress" level shy. But concerned.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The history of the boombox: [link]

Lot's of pictures of early boomboxes and shots from movies featuring them....

Again, Barry Gordy's The Last Dragon graces us with another portable-- this one suffers a sad fate. One facet of the mid-80s that we fail to recall is that when youths felt the need to breakdance, they would drop a radio and start doing it regardless of time or place, like in this movie theater. The dance session is cut short as one angry moviegoer applied some street justice, ending the life of this helpless boombox.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I like ING and use them myself.

information libertarian

If ING is FDIC-insured, you should be good.

Thanks, Jesse. [ETA: And thanks, flea.] It's sort of between ING and HSBC right now. Mostly because those are two that I've heard of. (Advertising money well spent, I guess. Go them.) But ING seems to have some sort of New Zealand fund freeze issue, and HSBC's Chairman is apparently a priest. Which isn't bad per se, but does make me go, "Bwuh?"

I have had good (non-banking) experiences with the US ING folks, although have seen some other international issues...

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Chipmunk in da house.

I just cleaned those floors.

Heard the cat coming and knew, just knew, that she was bearing gifts. Didn't get to the window in time.

Mon (or ma) clafoutis smells very custardy.

Mon.

And it's puffing at the edges of the pan.

I was going to say this is normal, but then I see you figured it out.

Eggs. Wheat. Milk. It's good for you! Plus, fruit!
