I'll just jump in my time machine, go back to the twelfth century, and ask the vampires to postpone their ancient prophesy for a few days while you take in dinner and a show.

Our wings are not tired.

Kat, I don't know if it will help you, but before dentist visits I load up on ibuprofin. It helps ease a lot of the pain.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Kat, there are topical numb-ers. I totally demanded that when I had my teeth cleaned after ... a while and it was vital. She reapplied halfway through too.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Kat, I sympathize. I have TMJ and a regular cleaning can leave me in pain all day. I try to load up on pain meds before I go, too. Sometimes, if I'm having serious work done, I'll get the dentist to prescribe a sedative to relax me.

Owen is reading to Olivia from a comic book before they go to bed. My heart is like to burst.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Ohhhh... a sedative would be nice. Tried the topical stuff which didn't work and I took Advil when I got home. I will advil beforehand.

I do think it is penance for all the times I didn't go.

Compassionately intolerant

ION, aw -- remember that show Buffy??

Thanks for that Jesse. A nice reminder...and ohmygod...how can it be that long ago?

Guilt shouldn't be part of the dental experience. The pain is enough.

Because books.

Guilt shouldn't be part of the dental experience. The pain is enough.

Also maybe a Xanax or Ativan for beforehand? The dentist might even be able to prescribe it. I think that would help tremendously.

I felt like this when one of my cavities needed a freaking root canal.

I am sorry that the benzocaine-whateverocaine gels didn't help.

I went to the dentist I did specifically because they were recommended for those scared or dentists or extra-sensitive because it'd been so long for me. It took two applications before my gums were numbed but the amazing hygienist really made sure I was comfortable before going in. I am never going elsewhere.

Our wings are not tired.

I haven't been to the dentist in too long. My cousin is a dentist and I love him as a person. But fear. Eeep.

ION, Liz Cheney should not be on my television so much.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh crap, I have the dentist next week! I'd better start flossing...
