Hey peeps! I can't remember when I was last in Natter, but I could swear threads didn't used to get this big. Anyhoo, I was intrigued, so I popped in and to the end, and then I saw tommyrot's link, and if you haven't looked at it yet, then you should, because it's wonderful.
Here in Juneau, by the way, we have weather: wonderful weather! After weeks of rain, as is normal, we have sunshine and temps in the high 60s or low 70s. You can all commence jealousy now.
It's great to see your pixels, Natter. Alas, I'm not quite up to drinking from the firehose, but I do love it here.
Tom! Holy shit! My one coworker is always complaining about how we're not on Hulu, so I'm excited that we are! Thanks for the heads up.
Also, is it me, or do they show that 3-part Hollywood Law and Order every 4th of July (OK, I guess tomorrow isn't actually the holiday, but still)? Is that supposed to be a holiday tradition?
It is goooooorgeous weather here in Seattle too. I am relaxing on my balcony with vinho verde, a book (well, I finished the book), and my new netbook. And I had spinach pizza stuff from TJ's, and too many cookies. Mmmm. Tiny delicious little crispy almond cookies. Which don't really go very well with the wine, but whatever. The weather is still delightful.
happy birthday Frankenbuddha

Sometimes, those of us from rainy climes just need to gloat a little bit.
Oh! I meant to mention, I've been to Guell and Sagrada and the Barcelona Cathedral. The cathedral was discovered by following the music (street musicians) and suddenly I was there and a rainstorm opened up. Fortuitous and beautiful. I love most holy places even though I'm def. not.
I agree completely. I had to be dragged away from Sagrada Familia. I loved Barcelona in any case, but Sagrada Familia... there's just nothing like it. I had the same experience with the Book of Kells in Dublin (and again when it visited Canberra).
And once again, I fall to my bad habit of skipping, this time because today is a double Buffista event: it's both sj's birthday and Beverly's (and her DH's) anniversary.
Happy day to them! With lots of wishes for a great year to come.
I figure I spent at least 10 hours total yesterday driving, and it was an even longer trip, because I spent a couple hours at my Aunt's in the middle -- but at least I got to visit quietly with my relatives/sit on the beach. After that, though, it was Traffic From Hell time with numerous standstills and useless detours to try to get away from it.
Happy birthday, sj!!
And Happy Anniversary, Bev & DH!
