Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Jesse, I just saw a PSA for your org on Hulu!

So I went to see Taylor sail in the harbor and met a bunch of her friends. Her dad arrived with her report car and she did really well this year: mostly As and a B in high school algebra. Her grades improved each semester. She ended up with a 90 average. Then she came home with me so her dad could run some errands (and plug the tire that picked up a nail!) We hung out and just talked about stuff. We had a long conversation about Goth due to her spotting Jilli's book on the table and how a friend of hers is a kinda a Goth. Read some of the intro to/with her. I'm gonna be getting her a copy. She thinks it is cool, but says she isn't a Goth (she isn't, but) since she likes pink too much so I whipped out LJ and showed her pictures of Jilli at Disney. Hah! "She's very pretty!"

Loaned her a sleeping bag for her overnight at UMBC. Her dad came to pick her up and asked if I was going to prune the bushes. "Uh, eventually?" (They need doing.) I was informed that he will do it "For all you've done for us. And I want to do more if you need it.) OK!

New bed tomorrow. Blinds next Sat. since I can't take ANY time off next week and the weekend is booked. Sigh. At least they'll be in by the time the parents arrive. Deck, nsm. Permits should be done next week. Annoying city!

Sara, I so want to come visit you and your new place. I love reading about it.

I'd love you to! When is the next Closeup??? I've even got a babygate and msbelle the awesome gave me a twin inflatable so we could pretend Noah'd sleep in his own bed were you guys to visit.

Must go buy queen mattress pad tomorrow once I find out the delivery time. After I clean out that bedroom. Taylor's visit kinda interrupted that plan and I don't wanna now. Oy.

Oh! I meant to mention, I've been to Guell and Sagrada and the Barcelona Cathedral. The cathedral was discovered by following the music (street musicians) and suddenly I was there and a rainstorm opened up. Fortuitous and beautiful. I love most holy places even though I'm def. not.

House pron: One a/c unit @70 and a fan was doing ok earlier when it was hot. But it cooled down outside, so I turned it off and have porch doors and west windows open on the first floor. Second floor is comfy due to a/c at outside temp setting.

You've got travel, missy, and Noah is a PITA when it comes to planes so it may be a while before I am out your way again.

Also, we have a wedding in August, a trip to Idaho, another wedding in October, then the Olympics in Feb. I have to bide my travel time.

Yeah, I'm burning up time the 3 weeks in July. Then hopefully still TG and Xmas and then I've fried everything. My Idaho friend is pressuring me, but I really can't in the next while. But still, you ever are out this way..

Hey peeps! I can't remember when I was last in Natter, but I could swear threads didn't used to get this big. Anyhoo, I was intrigued, so I popped in and to the end, and then I saw tommyrot's link, and if you haven't looked at it yet, then you should, because it's wonderful.

Here in Juneau, by the way, we have weather: wonderful weather! After weeks of rain, as is normal, we have sunshine and temps in the high 60s or low 70s. You can all commence jealousy now.

It's great to see your pixels, Natter. Alas, I'm not quite up to drinking from the firehose, but I do love it here.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Tom! Holy shit! My one coworker is always complaining about how we're not on Hulu, so I'm excited that we are! Thanks for the heads up.

Also, is it me, or do they show that 3-part Hollywood Law and Order every 4th of July (OK, I guess tomorrow isn't actually the holiday, but still)? Is that supposed to be a holiday tradition?
