I don't fancy spending the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I want to go visit somewhere that doesn't have any weather.

OOOH OOOHHH

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

My laptop is decorated with crawling ant stickers (I bought a package to decorate the inside of the kitchen cabinets at my old apartment and had some left over). I find it amusing that there is now a real ant crawling on my laptop.

Poor Ply got caught out in the rain last night and must have holed up somewhere, because she was nowhere to be found this morning. Now she's buried herself under the pile of laundry I still haven't put away.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

-t, I think your DH just about has it. She's certainly never proven herself on any major stage, but she keeps winning minor ones, and the Williams sisters especially don't play those. I thought that match was laughable, and given that Serena has been vocal before about Dinara not deserving the spot, I know there's at least eyerolling going on at the Williams residence tonight.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh yeah. Well, at least, Venus will be well rested for her match against her sister !

If I were Serena I'd make her work extra hard in the doubles match to compensate!

I've been paying more attention this championship to who's sponsored by whom, and I'm surprised at the number of logo only companies. I get it if you're Nike, but some of the others are opaque (Fred Perry) or have logos that were familiar but I just couldn't place--and it's not like I can just google "red distorted infinity sign" and come up with an athletic-wear vendor. And then you come up with a company like Yonex which kits out Dementieva or Hewitt from head to toe, including racket, and I swear I'd never heard of them before.

I guess that's why you advertise.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Jesse, I just saw a PSA for your org on Hulu!

So I went to see Taylor sail in the harbor and met a bunch of her friends. Her dad arrived with her report car and she did really well this year: mostly As and a B in high school algebra. Her grades improved each semester. She ended up with a 90 average. Then she came home with me so her dad could run some errands (and plug the tire that picked up a nail!) We hung out and just talked about stuff. We had a long conversation about Goth due to her spotting Jilli's book on the table and how a friend of hers is a kinda a Goth. Read some of the intro to/with her. I'm gonna be getting her a copy. She thinks it is cool, but says she isn't a Goth (she isn't, but) since she likes pink too much so I whipped out LJ and showed her pictures of Jilli at Disney. Hah! "She's very pretty!"

Loaned her a sleeping bag for her overnight at UMBC. Her dad came to pick her up and asked if I was going to prune the bushes. "Uh, eventually?" (They need doing.) I was informed that he will do it "For all you've done for us. And I want to do more if you need it.) OK!

New bed tomorrow. Blinds next Sat. since I can't take ANY time off next week and the weekend is booked. Sigh. At least they'll be in by the time the parents arrive. Deck, nsm. Permits should be done next week. Annoying city!

Oh! I meant to mention, I've been to Guell and Sagrada and the Barcelona Cathedral. The cathedral was discovered by following the music (street musicians) and suddenly I was there and a rainstorm opened up. Fortuitous and beautiful. I love most holy places even though I'm def. not.

House pron: One a/c unit @70 and a fan was doing ok earlier when it was hot. But it cooled down outside, so I turned it off and have porch doors and west windows open on the first floor. Second floor is comfy due to a/c at outside temp setting.
