Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have the 3rd off. Adorable BiL is visiting for the weekend, on his way to be a chef in New Hampshire for the next six weeks.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

DW and I have the 3rd off. We will be spending it finishing packing up the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room as our remodel starts TUESDAY! Must keep the end result in mind as it is going to be a horrible 6-8 weeks.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I have the 3rd off. I'm working from home today but expect to be in the office tomorrow.

CJ went swimming with a bunch of the kids from the dojo yesterday and didn't put on a dab of sunscreen. He is a CRISPY CRITTER today. I'm home being the Aloe Vera queen.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I have tomorrow and the third off, since it's our off friday anyway.

I have a physics question, but am trying to figure out how to phrase it properly.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

We have the 3rd off.

At my uni, we have no raises this year because of the economy. However, those of us who make less than $40,000 are getting $750 , which will not get added to our pay next year.

We keep getting emails about our "one-time lump sum payment in the gross amount of $750. This will be paid in two separate installments".

I know what they are going for, but how are we getting two one-time payments of half of a lump sum?

ION, I always thought "American Exceptionalism" was a phrase only used by its critics. But I was wrong. Here is Liz Cheney:

We've now seen several different occasions when [Obama]'s been on the international trips, where he's not willing to say, flat out, 'I believe in American exceptionalism. I believe unequivocally, unapologetically, America is the best nation that ever existed in history, and clearly that exists today.' Instead we've seen him do what we saw him do in the speech in Cairo, which is sort of, 'on one hand this, on the other hand that,' and then attempt to put himself sort of above it all. I think that troubles people.

Conservatives have used the argument that since America is fundamentally good, it's OK when we torture, or go to war without valid pretext....

Yahoo! Go God!

Via Think Progress, the best part of a new interview with Joe the Plumber published by World Net Daily:

Asked if he has plans to run for public office, he replied, “I hope not. You know, I talked to God about that and he was like, ‘No.’”

Pshaw! As Nixon said:

"When the President does it, that means that it's not illegal."

(sigh)

If the US does it, it is therefore not an immoral act. Dontchagetityet?

(And for those who don't know me very well - which is almost all of you, since I'm a hermit - I'm both a black-hearted cynic, and a bleeding-heart liberal, which is nice - it means my own blood doesn't stain my gothy wardrobe.)
