Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
I was just out with a friend this weekend who was at her wit's end with her five-year-old. He BEGGED to go to a summer arts program some of his friends were doing and it took some finagling for her to get him accepted. On the day of the program starting, he declared he wouldn't go and had a complete meltdown as soon as they got there. After three days of crying, screaming, clinging to her legs to keep her from leaving, etc, they pulled him out and he is going to the daycare at the school she works at.

And for the first time in my life I wish I lived in NYC, so I'd be closer to msbelle and mac and could do something practical to help out instead of just wringing my hands in sympathetic rageful frustration from the other end of the continent.

Yikes scrappy that's rough. I've laid out mac's options. I can pull him out of this and have him go to the Y (never, he screams)n or he can keep pulling this crap and I will lose my job and we will move to texas in august.

I am back to 2 teens. One went home to NJ. Working on getting DH and my other son up here for a visit. We bought a big axe today for splitting logs for more and bigger campfires. Whee! Also bought a new kitchen sink faucet. Wish me easy plumbing.
