'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It really seems to me that his life went off the track when he got burned so badly in that Pepsi commercial: bizarre behavior, plastic surgery addiction, shutting himself away from a regular life. What a waste of a great talent who could have done so much more.

They're a good salad garnish.

Scapes are all the rage! There was a recipe for a pesto made from them in yesterday's paper. Let me find the link.

NPR has an amazingly detailed piece playing right now - how did they put it together on a moment's (well, half-hour's) notice? (By Neda Ulaby, with whom I attended college, by the way.) Maybe they had something worked up because he had a tour coming up? I mean, nobody had him on the short list to die any time soon, right? He was 50. Kooky, but not sick.

He was 50. Kooky, but not sick.

I thought there were reports of him being sick with a heart thing earlier this year? You never knew with him though whether it was true or a grab for attention.

News outlets usually have big obits of alive famous people prepared just in case.
