An arguement has broken out in my office on whether MJ's music sucks. Someone has said heatedly, "You don't get the title King of Pop for suck."
Amen.
Where's my Thriller mp3 file?
edit: and they're wondering about the rights to the Beatles' songs.
There's a charity-related ad that just came on with Jackson 5's "I'll be there" as the soundtrack. That Michael Jackson has been gone for a long time, but it's underscored now.
Loki just climbed into a pillow (actually 2 pillows in one case, he's between the pillows) and is asleep. Weirdo. It's too warm to be pillow filling!

This is sadly true -- and I'm feeling halfway between shocked/sad and jokey/irreverant, I think because in my mind MJ is already long since gone.

To wit: what should I do with the garlic scapes I bought at the farmers market today? I mean, other than wear them around my wrists like weird alien bracelets.
MJ was a ridiculously great entertainer. I remember gathering around the TV for the Motown 25th anniversary special in the early 80s to see him perform. He did not disappoint. ita is right, though - that guy has been gone for a very long time.
It really seems to me that his life went off the track when he got burned so badly in that Pepsi commercial: bizarre behavior, plastic surgery addiction, shutting himself away from a regular life. What a waste of a great talent who could have done so much more.
