I'm--reluctantly--serious about Jon and Kate. All of a sudden I can't turn around at the grocery store without seeing some bland, grim blonde creature on the cover of a magazine accompanied by a headline talking about the disaster of her marriage or something. I know they have a reality TV show somewhere, but why did they escape from the safety of a channel I never watch to nearly every printed page in view? And way too many websites.

Trust my rage

Yeah, I think "I'm just being a mother to my kids now" is totally code for "my husband is a cheating bastard but I can't say that in front of the kids."

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I hate Kate with the red hot fire of a million suns and have for well over a year. I am sure I would dislike Jon also.

never even watched the show. cannot wait until this becomes yesterdays news, if she ever lets it die down, that is.

Our wings are not tired.

I had absolutely NO idea who they were until a few weeks ago. I am really, really out of it when it comes to reality tv, especially the stuff on TLC and the like. Not putting it down, just don't know about it. But I was home sick a few weeks ago and playing around with "video on demand" and found the show and watched two episodes. I thought it would deal more with the day-to-day organization and logistics about having a large family (which I find fascinating ever since reading "Cheaper by the Dozen" as a kid) and as an only child, it's like a window into another universe. But all I saw were "events" put on by Kate with hardly a glimpse of Jon. It wasn't what I expected at all.

She asked him to leave two weeks ago!

South Carolina's first lady says she asked Gov. Mark Sanford to leave home and stop talking to her two weeks before he publicly admitted an affair with a woman he visited on a secret trip to Argentina.

Jenny Sanford said in a statement Wednesday that she needed a trial separation from her husband of nearly 20 years to preserve her own sense of dignity.

Mark Sanford said Wednesday he has ended the yearlong affair and his wife has known about his infidelity for five months. The governor says he is seeking his wife's forgiveness and wants to reconcile.

Jenny Sanford's statement says her husband has earned a chance to resurrect their marriage.

her husband has earned a chance to resurrect their marriage.

Maybe she gave him an Urn of Osiris for Father's Day.

Coding and Sleeping

I didn't know anything about Jon and Kate, but I suppose I do now. I am epically out of touch with reality TV.

I just listened to a Finnish metal band singing a song about the Cherokees. An odd combination, but it works.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My mom lives in southern NJ, and Jon and Kate gossip tends to dominate the Philly news shows (I guess they live in the Lancaster area of PA), so she's been getting inundated in the past few weeks.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I feel for Jon & Kate. They had eight kids and little income and I'm sure a reality show seemed like a great solution once upon a time.

Obviously things got out of hand, but that doesn't happen suddenly in one day.
