Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Will there be opportunities for time apart? That seems key.

Luckily, my parents and I (and my likely roommate) are in agreement on this point. Unclear whether the tour design will allow for much.

Amy, it's a trip around Turkey and Greece.

3 weeks with my parents. About a week of it in my house.

That sounds cool. I hope someday to travel to someplace further away than Canada (and that was a business trip).

Because books.

Oh, fun. I'm tempted to break into song from Mamma Mia! now.

Love Mike Rowe/Dirty Jobs? Got 20 minutes? He gave a TED talk on dirty jobs last fall - it starts out about castrating sheep, but then he gets into anagnoresis. (Must have been a Classics major - who knew?) [link]

I don't think I would ever be comfortable as a pilot in a plane knowing that the cockpit is attached to the rest of the plane by a hinge.

I'm guessing Mamma Mia had less of a focus on biblical history, but I could be wrong....

The trip should be great -- I'm just a little nervous about the tour-bus aspect. And room-sharing, but I feel pretty confident that my likely roommate will be looking for alone time as well.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

flea -- Rowe has a classical opera background, and seems to handle Latin (all that church music) fairly well, not to mention Italian music terms. Just one more reason he's way high up on my FCM list.

(FTR, if you put up Rowe, Hugh Dillon, and Antonio Banderas for my personal FCM, I would probably expire of frustration, because each of them has a whole lot going for himself.)
