You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Lightning bugs; when we first brought one of our kiddoes to a music festival in the midwest he'd never seen them before. He was so freaked out. "There's a bug. And its butt lights up. Dude, its BUTT LIGHTS UP!" with such a what-is-wrong-with-you-people expression on his face.

That was about my reaction too. It's pretty cool. And then there are female fireflies that mimic the flash pattern of the females of other firefly species to lure the hapless males over and eat them.

Yeah, I think I am gonna want to got with cellular or roman shades. I don't want curtains, really. I briefly entertained plantation shutters, but that's gone now. With romans, it would end up being a DIY, I think.

I love butt lit bugs. It is so ridic.

Trust my rage

Growng up, my mom had these sheer, cloth window coverng that were blinds of a sort in that they could be pulled. I will have to look for a picture be ause that's a terrible description. Anyway, loved them because when it was light outside, they gave our living room this beautiful glow. From the outside they looked like Japanese rice paper walls.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

This has been a good year in NC for lightning bugs. Last year I didn't see many, possibly because of the drought. This year we've had lots of water, and I saw dozens of lightning bugs just on the walk to take the trash to the dumpster.

I guess they would be kinda freaky if you weren't expecting them. But I adore them.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I really do like the vertical blinds, which make it so easy to adjust the amount of light that gets through, but sweep so completely out of the way so you can get the view when you want it. My mom's place has them and it's great. If I had an actual View from this house, not to mention big picture windows like she has, I'd have them myself.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

The place we just moved into has lovely Roman blinds. We had wood blinds in the past, but they get dusty.
