Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Geez, microwave suicide.
I am envious of the beautiful globe.
meatdress is cool. I was honestly expecting her to be hung about with pork chops stapled together with bacon.
The McPizza is eww in both vegan and non-vegan versions.
That is one dead countertop kitchen appliance.
Theo, um. That's ... BAD.
Seriously. That's, like, *Mythbusters*-level damage.
So not clicking on the meat link.
oh, liese! be brave! It's actually very very cool. and, yay, a little revolting.
Noah's dinner tonight, because I was at the awards assembly that my school (and me, since I was in charge of hour 1) ran, was terrible: 8 ounces of milk, a frappucino, his body weight in crackers, a cookie, some cheese. Sigh. I fail as a mom today.
Ugh.
Tonight is grad night at school which is all night at disneyland. The students are expected to attend and be in school tomorrow all day, even though they are getting back from grad night at 7:00 AM.
Movies and milk and donuts and cookies for my students.
ita, do you have any interest in a job at my school? Send me mail at my profile addy if so. They're looking for a couple of new fulltime people to work on all aspects of IT (including servers/networks, if you're comfortable with them), and they would love to hire a woman (given the whole all girls school thing). I mentioned I might know someone, and the Director of Technology (a total sweetheart of a woman) perked right up and asked me to ask you to send along a resume.
I don't know if you have any interest, but I thought I'd let you know just in case.
Obama's people never seem to miss an opportunity. You can sign a virtual cast of support for Judge Sotomayor at their website.
So, does that mean that Ms. bono thought she was a gay woman and she isn't, or is that the dumbest question ever asked?
Just watching Glee on Hulu. Does anyone else think that the teacher looks a lot like ita's friend Colin?
Er, I'm not sure I understand what you mean, erika?
t eta: just like coming out as gay, it's often a complicated process for some people. Becuase being trans is even less accepted in our society than being gay, it's even MORE complicated and fraught, for many people. And, just like being gay, for some people it's very clear at a very young age, and something they just can't fight against, and for other people it takes time and acceptance for themselves, or may be something they've known for a long time, but just not fully explained to friends/family/the bigger world. There are degrees of "outness" for transpeople, too, and degrees of what you can do to "be" trans--whether you go for hormones, surgery, etc.
