Bof? eta AH!
It's nice to see you, Allyson!
So Vegas was good. I love Mandalay Bay so much. Even with a toddler in tow. We got to swim, we had the lazy river, we did not get to participate in the wave pool. We ate at our favorite hotel for food, even though we couldn't sit at the oyster bar as we had a little one in tow.
Also got to see a friend from high school (both K and I did, actually). So that part was good too.
I have 2 more weeks of school and my grades are already turned in. It's making it hard to motivate.
And that came up how exactly?
New french post-doc went kinda "meh" about something.
Hah! That is exactly how I would translate it.
One of my French teachers in high school told us that were were not allowed to say "um" when we were pausing while speaking in French, because "um" was English -- we had to use "euh" or "ben." (I have no idea how to spell that first one -- nothing looks right.)
Speaking of meh, not too thrilled by the mesclun, cherry, and chevre salad, but I'm happy to report that the cherries are no more. Brandy may have been involved.
I feel like such a slacker for having to ask this, but what is a 9/80 schedule?
You work 80 hours in 9 days, with every other Friday off.
I'll have to crib some flirty phrases off of you when the french physicist I have an unreasonable crush on comes for a visit, Megan. I probably won't say them, but I will think them VERY LOUDLY!
Yeah, I work 9 hour days every day except friday, which is 8, and the next friday is off. I love the Friday off, but man, getting to work at 8am and leaving at 6 is hurty sometimes. Weirdly, I put in longer hours at the other place, but I cold come in at 9, so I didn't feel so crappy in the AM.
