bought plants today and set up my window box on the stoop railing. Coral zinnias, peach verbena and purple scaevola! Found some fantastic orange/peach kalanchoe for my blue-green flower pots and tucked orange marigolds amongst the existing campanula. Need to steal a shovel from work to pop in the ferns and lady's mantle into the hill around the patio. I want to turn it into a shady grotto with a recirculating cascade starting near the ridge. I'll need to work the street corner for that one.
Pretty flowers!
Cherries, put them in a bowl and eat them.
If I eat 4lbs of cherries straight out of the bowl, I'll turn into something out of The Witches of Eastwick. Something bad.
Well, you don't have to eat them all tonight!
It's weird, but cherries are something I usually really *only* eat straight up like that. Everything else I'll put in a muffin or a pie or a quick bread. Weird.
Plei?
Elana! O, Elana, goddess of the kitchen.
I am going to try making jam! Emeline and I are going to go pick strawberries tomorrow.
I think that's why I don't have ideas. And most other berries, I could at least put on my cereal.
I have a mesclun, cherry, and goat cheese salad recipe, but that's only a cup.
You could make a wine or cordial - I'll bet that uses a bunch. Or some sort of sauce or compote.
Anyone have a gadget for removing cherry pits rather than the pain in the ass hand method?
cherry cobbler.
makes a good breakfast
They do freeze. I'd pit them first.
