My other solution to what to do with cherries is hand them to the Queen of the Jam Economy. Then the cherries become tasty things in jars, and are available throughout the year!

bought plants today and set up my window box on the stoop railing. Coral zinnias, peach verbena and purple scaevola! Found some fantastic orange/peach kalanchoe for my blue-green flower pots and tucked orange marigolds amongst the existing campanula. Need to steal a shovel from work to pop in the ferns and lady's mantle into the hill around the patio. I want to turn it into a shady grotto with a recirculating cascade starting near the ridge. I'll need to work the street corner for that one.

I think that's why I don't have ideas. And most other berries, I could at least put on my cereal.
