"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

and Chinese food frequently has pork where you wouldn't expect it.

It's like the south and collard greens!

Also fish sauce can be ubiquitous.

Still, I bet the local SFistas on Yelp have scoped out which asian restaurants are vegan friendly.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Actually, the South is pretty upfront about the collard greens. Expect pork.

This would be a good answer to that Actor's Studio question, What do you want to hear when you arrive at St. Peter's gate in Heaven?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So, if I have something screwed up in my TMJ joint in my jaw (preventing my teeth from lining up like they usually do when I close my mouth), who do I call? Oral surgeon? Dentist (and ask what oral surgeon they recommend)?

I think this is related to the TMJ surgery I had in '87....

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Today, in hilarious official responses to lawsuits:

Activision's none too pleased about Double Fine Productions' heavy metal epic Brütal Legend having gone to EA. So it's suing the developer. What say you, Double Fine president Tim Schafer?

"Hey, if Activision liked it, then they should have put a ring on it," Schafer said. "Oh great, now Beyoncé is going to sue me too."

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aims, is the punk playing t-ball? Right on.

She is! And Joe is assistant coaching!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

This weekend involves a sleepover at our house tonight. Which I hear involves cake and hot chocolate--that at least was the dessert request from our daughter.

Saturday there's a b-day party for one of Isaac's friends.

Sunday? I am unsure.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My sister is throwing a huge party for my niece's high school graduation. The graduation's tonight and the party's Sunday. We just got back from Sam's Club where we walked past their ginormous carts to nab one of their super-ginormous flat-beds on wheels. And then we filled the thing with unhealthy-and-yummy snacks and drinks.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, thank goodness for you, sumi. I just programmed my tivo for Belmont. I missed Preakness because I'm clueless. I'm such a peripheral race fan. I really love it when I watch, I just don't remember to watch. Although I've rarely missed the Kentucky Derby, regardless of where I am.

Okay, so weekend: working today & tomorrow. Driving to & from New Mexico Sunday, thus missing the church picnic. Apparently there was a children's production of Jungle Book today, but I missed it.

What else? Weeding. Cleaning house. It badly needs it. Working on finances. Watching hockey. (Go Pens! All tied up!)

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, I can't wait for the Belmont. I have high hopes for Mine that Bird - I like him so much.
