For upscale vegan food in SF, I've heard that Millennium [link] is fabulous. Entrees from $20 to $25, though, so more a special occasion place than an everyday place.
I have a washer and dryer I can use now! Next up, outdoor outlet.
I finally found Loki's upstairs hiding place. He'd disappear on me and then suddenly appear in the hall. He was going in the big closet, on a shelf behind all the hanging clothes. It's dark, cozy and now I'm sure all those clothes are coated in cathair....
sarameg - do you mean your clothes aren't always covered in cat hair? I'm impressed ....
Well, the ones I am wearing now are. My work clothes are rarely worn at home. My home/weekend clothes? Now those are layered in hair. CLean clothes? Well, I'll probably never get all the hair off 'em, but...
I really like the Golden Lotus in Oakland - Vietnamese veggie stuff like that fake duck that was developed for monks. Delicious.
DH is going on a retreat this weekend so I am planless, which makes a nice change, frankly. The Shore Fest is tomorrow a few blocks from my house, so I will probably go to that, but otherwise I will just putter around the house or, you know, whatever I feel like.
Weekend plans: fangirl dinner tonight, a meeting tomorrow, laundry, and I may go the Printer's Row book fair if we get a few hours of sunshine.
Herbivore is excellent. I take Jen K. there whenever she's in town. Millenium is upscale fancy.
There a Japanese place in the Mission that serves vegetarian and vegan dishes.
You could probably just cruise Yelp for vegan stuff and find a ton of Asian and Indian restaurants that cater. I've got a vegetarian Indian restaurant on my block that undoubtedly has some non-cheese dishes.
Aims, is the punk playing t-ball? Right on.
My weekend is busy. Jen K. is in town. So is Suzi. Emmett's got a game tonight, after which we're going to an A's game. Saturday and Sunday Emmett is umpiring. I'm socializing in and around that.

You do have to be careful with Asian food though - with Japenese food there's almost always dashi involved, and Chinese food frequently has pork where you wouldn't expect it.
Indian food also almost always has butter unless you ask for it without.
