My prediction for the weekend: an emotional minefield with sunburn.
Eeep. I hope there are potent beverages included.
The interesting aspect of my drive will be the co-drivers. My brother is driving to NY at the same time so I offered to split up the drivers with him. My son and dog will go with my brother and his wife and I get his 20 & 21 yo kids and a 9mo infant. Neither of the kids has any real highway driving experience, but they have plenty of experience driving on roads with the worst elderly drivers on the planet on the west coast of Florida, so they are used to the crazy. I did make a pitch today to try and talk my brother into stopping half way instead of going straight through like usual.
Have the live scores up for the French Open:
Ooh, I wish I'd tivoed this first semi looks good. A five-setter and I think Soderling is going to win it
!
Stephanie, you are way braver than I ever was.
Well, I sort of got exactly the party I didn't want. I wanted small, at home, and inexpensive. But, Ellie has been totally into horse back riding lately, ever since she rode on our friend's horse Coyote. So, I knew she would love it at the horse place. And I have nothing to do but bake the cake, which I actually like doing. And, most importantly, it's not at my house! And we are leaving, so it's a sort of good-bye party - both for her and us.
This weekend, I'm going to BFD and seeing lots of awesome bands, and then on Sunday, I'm meeting a TWoPer for lunch and wandering.
Oy, the hammering. And it is right under me too.
ARGH. I am ready to explode with irritation at a student. And a student I even like.
Must take deep breaths. Must not yell or maim. Must remain calm.
Weekend: No plans! I do have to Clean the house. It's getting desperate.
Other than the usual bookstore shift tomorrow, I have no plans except my usual intention to clean my apartment. Now, if I actually do so, I'll be ahead of the game! I started with taking all my garbage out to the dumpster this morning, and laundry has to be done first thing tonight, as well as dishes.
Oh, and I do want to finally get caught up on the last six episodes of Dollhouse, starting with the ep I have to buy from iTunes (Hulu no longer has it for free) and then I get to watch and delete the others off my dvr.
We also cross paths with Kentucky's 400-Mile Yard Sale, which should make the drive extra exciting.
Is that the World's Largest Yard Sale I've seen on HGTV? IIRC, it runs through Georgia and Tennessee as well as into Ohio. It looks pretty neat, but the traffic they show on TV is horrendous.
