Yay hugs! I'll have to show the boys this one.

Pls. report back - are they and their schoolmates (that sounds old-fashioned. Why?) huggers?

Our wings are not tired.

I drive every morning to drop off at high school. I can report that I see lots of strange things happening, but the only hugs I see are the occasional couple or mom's dropping off their sprog. Maybe it's too hot for hugs here.

OMG. I've never been more glad to be out of high school:

I saw that piece earlier today, and was confused. Because that kind of hugginess was creeping me out when I was in junior high. Twenty years ago. So it's odd to see it described like it's some startling new thing These Kids Today do.

The WaPo's Style section often seems to "discover" things several years after they're common, but this sets some kind of a record. I'm waiting for a follow-up about how some young people enjoy social events where they move their bodies in time to energetic music.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We have achieved cupcakes. Of course, Olivia only considers them a poor delivery method for the chocolate frosting and licks the frosting off while eating only the edges and the top. The poor, bare bottom of the cupcake is left for Mama.

This is Emaryn methodology as well.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

A connoiseur. The only way to eat cupcakes.

Always Anti-fascist!

All I can think reading that is "Wanna hug it out?" Which is of course not the same thing...that is hostility masquerading as affection. Also, probably Piven's epitaph, even if he ends up like Gielgud or somebody like that...what's left of his hair could be silver and he could be playing...Lear, or something. He'll still be two things...Cusack homeboy and the "Hug it out, bitch!" guy.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Random question:

was there an electric girl in Angel? What was her story line again?

There was ... Gwen, I think? I'm vague on the details.
