Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Sotomayor has been the subject of an anonymous whisper campaign ever since it became clear she was on Obama's short list.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I love the "whisper campaign" as a verbal construct, not the real actual shittiness behind it. But I love the idea of gossipy people in 1950's garb whispering behind their gloved hands to talk smack.

It's a really cool label, for an awful concept.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

My Tuesday is not bad, except that Tino set off a mysterious chirping about five this morning. I think it must be my smoke alarm battery check? Anyway, it went for about an hour, chirping very loudly at irregular intervals, and then stopped. I don't know for sure that my alarms even have batteries. But I guess I'd better check.

Anyway. That got me up and functional at a reasonable hour, so I even made eggs & pancakes for breakfast this morning, which was nice because the SO is going to be in the studio all day today. So it was good to have a little time together.

Lots of work today, but since school is finally over, it's work at home, which means I'm also hoping to do a lot of housework. You will note that I still have a lot of housework, which will indicate to the perceptive that this means I did not do a lot of housework over the holiday weekend. Oops.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I feel really adrift not having (officially) the contact info for my job apps. I could work out, I guess, which number job #1 called me from, but for what? That would be awkward.

My sister sent me this calling it sweetypie. This is a girl who doesn't get the point of puppies. And she sends me that freakish thing with the implication that it's cute.

Tried enough of the Skeptics podcasts. I don't like the people. I don't think I'll be able to continue. So far I basically have a bunch of Scientific American ones. Also tried "Geeks on" but they're way too interested in computer games for me, and not obsessive enough about the stuff I like.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The Seven Deadly Sins

Which one are you?

I guess I'm the one on the left.

If that gets too newsy, I'll hunt you down, Tom. I have an allergy.

The show used to be more sciency in the past, now it's more artsy, although she still has scientists on quite often.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I haven't had anything bad or expensive happen yet, so I think Tuesday is a win in my book.

So far, at least.
