You just may have solved a mystery, Kat! My tree (well, the city's) out front threw a bunch of those down on my car and porch roof. So I'm guessing it is a maple! I was wondering and A has been out of town so I haven't been able to ask her.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We call those Pinocchio noses in my family! Because you can open up the flat side and stick them on your nose.

We used to try to drop the seeds down in such a way as to make them spin in perfect spirals.

I get a 404 on that link...I'll have to take a picture. Too dark now.

Ah, Google tells me that "Pinocchio noses" are not unique to my family.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

A friend calls them "Pollynoses", as in Pollyanna, I think. I used to think she was saying some funny latin like "polyneuses".

That link to the tatoo story was a nice read. Liked her style of writing and revealing.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Aww. I have fond memories of a red maple growing up, too.

Oh! And we're having a downright thunderstorm and it's freaking me and the Biscuit right out. He was barking out the door at the thunder. I don't think he's going to be able to catch it, though he might eventually chase it off.

Baby pictures!!! Oh, my, those are sweet to see.

I just got back from movie and dinner with tommyrot and brenda and miriam, who joined tom and me for the dinner part. Very yummy pasta carbonara with loads of bacon chunks for me, and we split a dessert of some sort of gruel-like texture sweet soup with berries, cinnamon-covered apples, and almonds. That was very good and very light, a perfect dessert after a big dinner. And better yet, I didn't get lost on the way back to the Edens!

Now I have to clean my apartment this weekend.
